Under 8’s can enjoy an indoor soft play area, located adjacent to our on site cafe. Outside there is an adventure play park with swings and a zip wire – perfect for letting go of pent up energy after exploring the museum. Little ones can follow the Major Teddington trail around the museum in search of stamps and there are also opportunities for dressing up. Throughout the exhibitions there are interactive displays geared at engaging children, through a range of video games and puzzles. The Tank museum offers a fantastic day out for tank enthusiasts as well as younger members of the family. Visitors can also enjoy a ride on an armoured vehicles around the grounds of the museum for an additional fee. You can walk around the halls and explore the vehicles at your leisure or join one of the guided tours and talks, which are provided free of charge. It is used to educate serving soldiers on historic vehicles as well as the modern Challenger 2 tank. The museum continues to be a source of information for the armed forces. There are 6 exhibition halls which house every vehicle that has ever been used in modern war. There are more than 300 tanks on display, including Little Willie, the first tank ever produced. It is thought to showcase the best collection of military vehicles in the world. The Tank Museum is located in Bovington on the site of the World War I tank training centre.
